Eng's Noodle @ Tanjung Katong Road

What is so nice about this legendary Eng's noodle? I think it's the chilli.

I feel that the noodle was just so so. I admit that their wantons are good, the fried one and the soup one. The cha siu is mediocre. Presentation of the food is also mediocre.

After you add chilli into your noodle, all the mediocre things change into fantastic.

Things from Lazada

On 12th December, Niko told me regarding the new online shopping website. He said this place got sale for black friday. As soon as I reached office, I immediately bought the SKII stempower for only $105.

Then the evening time, I bought some others things. My casio watch was for $38, gold shoes was for $9.50 and Niko's seiko watch was for $58.



I told my neighbor, Yani, to get her SKII too. She also bought. :)

Father-In-Law Passed Away

I worked OT on Tuesday till 10.15pm. I reached home and showered. However if I worked OT, I can not immediately sleep because my brain needs time to cool down. So I could not sleep until 1.20am. On 3am, I woke up because Niko received a call from mother-in-law that his father passed away. I couldn't sleep after that.

Niko immediately booked ticket on 3.30am wednesday,17th December to fly on 7am. Marco also woke up. I couldn't sleep because I also need to send him to office to get his passport (where got people leave their passport in office) and continued to airport then went to office to finish my deadline. I also needed to book my ticket for the next morning. It happened that SQ was having promotion 2 to go for $590. BEST!!! I took the deal. I quickly finished my job to be presented on Thursday.

The hi-activity was not ended yet. We needed to pack for the botak boy. His things can not be forgotten. All his bolster and pillow must be brought. Thuzar packed during afternoon already.

We slept around 11pm then woke up on 4am on Thursday. As soon as all the preparation was done, I called taxi to airport. We reached early, took some photo with the mickey mouse garden and the indoor garden.



As soon as we reached I called Niko but my phone couldn't be used. Normally I don't have problem with my phone. This time it was like not allowing overseas call. I went in again to the glass door and used airport's wifi to contact Niko thru whatsapp. Fiuh...lucky got free wifi.

After reaching home, I dropped Marco at home and I went to exchange money at Chandra and bought cracker. I couldn't open account at BCA because I don't have tax number and other stupid reasons. We went to Carrefour Duta Merlin to buy Marco's diapers. We have maximum 70kg baggage to bring back to SG.

The evening time, I went to Heaven Funeral Home with my mother and aunty to meet Niko and Family. I was giddy that day because lack of sleep for few days. I went home around 9.30pm to rest.

The day after was the last day of wake. We brought Marco to heaven to see his late grand father for the last time before cremation. When Marco was there, we took pictures with the casket. Marco needed to go home before evening or late afternoon because it was not good for baby or toddler to be in the funeral home. However, there was people who brought 1,5 year toddler to the funeral on 9.30pm and they came 2 consecutive days. Very weird family. I remember my parents never bring me to the funeral when I was little unless it was my relatives or close family member. So my mother went home with Marco and Thuzar. I stayed till the end of the day.


We officially finished around 10.30pm. Cleaned the room and packed our things around 11pm. We went to Heaven Atma Jaya to burn the paper house. Actually burning paper house was very fast as it was paper and empty inside.


The cremation day was on Saturday. We reached there on 7.00am. I was assigned to bring the candles. Then we went up to the cremation room. He was cremated on 8am. So we all went for breakfast at Aston Hotel. The process was done when we were back. The bones were displayed on three different trays. The skull bones, the body bones and the leg bones.


A van provided from Heaven was ready to send us to Ancol. Upon our arrival at he jetty, a boat was ready to take us. I was a bit scared because I can not swim. So while they scattered the ash and the casket ash, I just took photos and video. The shake was getting stronger when the motor was turned off.

Going back to the land was much faster as may be the feeling was lighter and the boat was pushed by the waves.

We went back to Niko's home to take shower and rest a while and after around 3pm we went out to pick Marco up at my house. We went to Central Park. We had dimsum there. Marco ate carrot cake for the first time. He was non-stop eating.




On the way home was so bag till Marco was so hungry. We literally spent 2 hours going home. As soon as reached home, he ate his porridge. We then continue to massage at Yu Yan Tang, Pluit. I was in hell. All my body was painful. Then I decided to add Gua Sha to get rid of the wind. It was like giving birth for the second time. This picture was taken as soon as we finished our session. After 2 days, all the red colour become black like bruise. I feel like I have internal injury.


I slept well that night and woke up the next morning with all pain my body. I brought Marco to the first floor. We needed to settle his things faster and went to have lunch at Ipotsuki PIK.


We ate quick one and headed to airport. Thuzar ate the fried rice before we entered the gate. I never thought that was a bad idea until I saw her had airsick and vomited 4 times in the plane. She vomited again one time in taxi on the way home. It was good to be back home.



From this trip, I conclude that Marco doesn't like my mom. He was still ok with my auntie. He was interested looking at animals which I have a cat loitering around my cluster. It was so difficult to get the things done if he only wants to be carried by Thuzar or me. He was ok with a maid at Niko's house.

Jakarta Trip 8th November 2014

Morning I woke up 8.00am. Jessy promised me to pick me up on 9am. In fact when I contacted her, she was near Tomang already. So I quickly took shower and waited her.

We went to starbucks mandala but there was no any parking lot available. Then she said we went to starbucks sarinah. Yucks!!! I don't like starbucks. I prefer Mc D. She didn't want. For me Starbucks is just super expensive coffee which I can not find why it's 4x the price than normal coffee.

After that, we were heading to Pacific Place. I chose to eat Oxtail Soup. She recommended the one managed by Borobudur Hotel. The price for small portion of oxtail soup was Rp.99K. I actually wanted to order the medium one, but Jessy said she normally eats the small one.

After that, we sat and chit chat on the cafe. I ordered Gryphon Tea, Pearl of the orient. We just went home after finishing our drinks.

On the way home, JC's car tank was empty till the light was on. She forgot to pump petrol and the nearest petrol station was not so near as we were in the CBD area and it was raining heavily some more. Finally we could reached the petrol station without unwanted thing happened.

My First Item from Lazada

We were on the way to office when Niko said there was this new online shopping having sale. I checked out on SKII he mentioned. Yes...it was really cheap. The seller is from SGBESTBUY. When I checked the SGBESTBUY website, they were more expensive. So when I reached office, I straight away bought my stempower 80gr for $115.

The price dropped on the evening. I wrote a complain to Lazada. I think they handled it nicely. I requested for a refund. They can not do that. Eventually we solve the issue by a $15 voucher.

Then I spent it the next day for 4 items. A 16gig micro SDcard for my phone, a pair of silver sandals, a pair of pink sandals which I think to give my maid, and a casio watch. All these 4 items I paid $54 after deducting with the $15 voucher.

My SKII have arrived on 15 Dec. 3 days after I put order on 12 Dec. That is fast.

Marco is 9 Months

In this age, he became a very troublesome baby. He doesn't want to be left alone. He always wants to be carried.

He wakes up in the morning around 6am and makes noise. He is like alarm clock for us.

His food is already more solid, not a smooth porridge with minced chicken or pork, chopped carrot and broccoli. His eating schedule is already fix, so it is easier to prepare and plan to go out side. His breakfast is normally 8-9 am in the morning. His lunch is normally on 12 noon. In between lunch and dinner, he will have juice or milk. Dinner is around 6 or 7pm.

He sleeps around 8pm. He will drink milk again on 11.30pm as he is hungry. Then he wakes up on 6am and drink milk again.
His appetite is really good compared to next door toddler. Marco eats more than him. Marco's bowl is bigger and he seems like not so full after a bowl of thick porridge. Well I can see the result of his appetite, he is fatter than 2 months ago. I can see his cheeks are more chubby.

His head is still bald. However I can see more hair.

His attitude becomes more and more obvious. He is a persistent baby. If he wants something, he will try to get it.

Lately he sticks with my maid because he is now understand and recognized people more compared to few months back. We have a problem when it comes to strangers. He is afraid to strangers and he will immediately cry with a very sad face when a stranger carries him.

We began to give him what ever we was eating. He also shows some interest if he is looking at us eating. Niko shared Mc.D apple pie and ice cream with him. I shared my pork in milk, curry puff, and spaghetti. I think he needs to eat more meat rather than just carbo or vege.

I think after eating these fruits for few times, these two are a perfect match.

Strawberry

Last friday I bought 1 box of strawberry. There are 16 nos.of strawberry in 1 box. Bigger than the NTUC one but I have to pay more for it.

This post was long over due. This was written when I was staying in Tiong Bahru.

My Dark Clouds

I have been under the dark cloud since early this month. I think it's because knowing the fact that I can not afford to buy a reasonable house in Jakarta. The fact that I am working in Singapore and I can not buy house in Jakarta is very painful for me.

With additional problems in office and home, I think I am really in a bad condition. I am no longer interested in socializing.

In these 2 years I was just too nice and too slow. May be I need to start my engine soon.

Dehydrated Strawberries

My dehydrated strawberries are more successful than the kiwi one. I gave a bit to Marco, he choked and couldn't breath. So scary. I think can not give funny funny things to him.

I think this dehydrator is just nice for strawberry. Since strawberry is the kind of fruit which rot very fast, by dehydrating, it can last longer on shelf.

I Used My Right as Citizen

I went to Indonesian Embassy to vote on 6th July 2014.

Jakarta Trip 7th November 2014

Morning 8am we went to Driving Center to renew my license. In fact over there, the anti corruption committee was conducting a control. So my agent could not accompany me to go inside. He told me already to go to counter no.23-27 for photo taking. But there was no one in the counter for female applicant. I walked to another counter, no.17. When I was there, there was some mistake in my address. 19A. It supposed to be 19.H. So the lady officer told me to go to counter 13 to rectify the data. After that, my picture, signature and thumb print. They asked me wait at counter 30.

After few seconds resting my back on the waiting chair, my name was called. So fast! Well, I feel my Rp400K is worthed. Total time of renewing my license was less than 15 minutes.

Coming home was heavy traffic. We continued the trip to Golden Truly. Bought Marco's clothes Rp.60K for 2 pieces. I found my working clothes 2 pieces for Rp.160K. Then we ate lunch at Hoka Hoka Bento Rp.70K.


The rest of the day I just stayed at home waiting for my MIL. We had dinner together today. She wanted to treat us at Cahaya Lestari.

We ordered Fish soup, salted egg yolk prawn, and eel with fu mak. Total bill was Rp.350K. MIL treated us.

Jakarta Trip 6th November 2014

Morning, I asked my mother to send me to Mall Taman Anggrek. I cut my hair at Jhonny Andrean Salon for Rp.120K with Rp.20K tips. My hair was cut by Ani.

Then I continued to Gramedia to get my comic. 4 Smurf comics and 2 Jeremy comics for Rp.178K. I should have bought these comic with somebody else who has BCA credit card so I can get 10% discount.

I met Tongtie and ate at Eaton. I ordered Sea Food Fried Kwetiao. Tongtie paid for the food.


We continued our food experience to dessert time. I wanted to sit at Honeymoon Dessert. We could not find it. It has closed down. So we went to Pancious. I ordered Choco Baileys. I think what I got just out of my expectation. The ice cream doesn't have alcohol at all. After eating half of my crepes, I felt bloated.



4pm he needed to send me home because after that he needed to pick up his wife. So we slowly went home while chit chating in the car.

Resting for less than 1 hour, Jessika came to my house. We chit chat while waiting for Hellena to come. We eventually went to Bakmi Aseng. I ordered swee kiao. Their swee kiao was very nice.

Going home, I was sent by Jessika. At Pasar Asem, there was a bit jam. Suddenly the people shouted and knocking our car. They said our car ran over a cat. So Ika took Rp.20K out from her wallet and gave the man for helping to bury the cat.

I think I became paranoid after that I worried when Ika went home alone. So after that night everything was alright.

Jakarta Trip 5th Nov 2014

I totally forgot to ask for more front seat as I checked in the automated counter. Seeing the queue, well, it may be the trade off to get check in faster.

We reached Jakarta on 9.30am. Took a blue bird taxi and spent Rp165K because the driver suggested to go by Roxy exit which eventually I found it's bad idea. We straight away went to Chandra to have early lunch and to exchange money. The exchange rate for SGD was Rp.9.385,-

I ordered Empek empek (indo fish cake) Rp.31K for 1 kapal selam, 1 bulat, and 1 kulit.


I also bought 6 pieces of cheap clothes for Marco Rp.50K.

Eat siomay again Rp.15K. Bought potato chips for Rp.75K.




Went to BCA Asemka to settle the safe deposit box. Went to BRI to replace my ATM card and deposit Rp2M to my account.

Went to Carrefour Mangga Dua to buy diapers and the instant seasoning Rp.400K.

After all these activity, both my mother and I were very tired. We rested a while at home and went out again to eat Bakmi Gajah Mada with my autie and tante Kinyo our neighbor. We ordered 3 normal chicken noodles, 1 special noodle, and 1 portion of fried dumpling for Rp.150K.

Marco Has Fever

It was Thursday afternoon when my maid messaged us in our group chat that Marco had fever. His body was so hot. We brought Marco to clinic and the doctor said he infected by virus. The fever was expected to occur until Sunday.

We decided to brought him sleep inside our room on Saturday night. I didn't sleep as I looked after him, kept him cold. His head was extremely hot. His fever shot up to 39.5 deg Celsius. I handed over him to my maid on 7am in the morning on Sunday because I really needed to sleep. I asked Niko to wake up on 8am and to take over the baby from the maid as she had day off.

Sunday also his fever still hadn't subsided. I asked Niko to go to doc. The clinic said may be we can observe for another one day.

Sunday evening I noticed Marco had rashes around his right eye and the back part of his body. Then I told Niko to go clinic on Monday morning.

Monday morning, the rashes were so bad. The entire scalp, his face and his body were full of red dots. We also noticed that his right eye lid was swollen.

We reached the clinic around 8.40am and we got no.12 while at the moment the doctor was serving no.1. Literally after waiting for 2 hours, it was our turn. The doctor confirmed that Marco has been infected by Roseola virus. It was not harmful. In fact that the rashes gave him the clue that it is not rubella (german measle-campak german), not other kind of virus. As soon as the rashes came out, the temperature will go down. So we will see within these 2 days. I hope he gets well soon.
