Bangkok, day 1, 11 May 2018

The journey started with lack of sleep. I couldn't sleep a night before. May be I was too excited.
I slept for 2 hours I guess before preparing to go airport on 4.30am. I reached airport around 5am and check in using machine.

I took photo at the garden at terminal 2.

Then I remember that taking scoot means we have to be transported to somewhere very far away and climb the staircase to board the plane.

The journey took about 2 hours then I reached Suvarnabhumi airport. It's a nice building.

I took MRT and BTS. Airport railway link is using plastic coin to tap in and tap out by returning the coin. But for normal BTS they use card.

Then I went down at Samphan Taksin BTS to continue by boat. The boat ticket was like a stamp.

The boat reached Wat Arun First. There was a 50 bath entrance fee. The temple was giant and nice. It is decorated by colour faience. Around the complex, they have different buildings and every thing was so nice. Very impressive. It was cloudy leading to drizzling when I was there.

I quickly cross the river by taking boat. Fare is 4 bath. Walk for 5 mins.

I reached Wat Pho. The entrance fee is 100 bath. It was indoor reclining golden Buddha statue. The floor was clean. We need to take off our shoes and plastic bags are provided.

I had my first phad thai from a restaurant near Wat Pho. Taste of prawn was good and fresh.

I continued walk to Grand Palace for fulfilling my itinerary for that day. Entrance fee for the Grand Palace is 500 bath. There were so many people there. Mostly were PRC tourists. My energy level dropped when I reached there. I also had stomach-ache when I was there. Lucky the toilet didn't have long queue.

Then I went to check in to my hotel at Phrom Phong BTS behind EmQuartier shopping mall. I rested for a few hours before coming out to find dinner. My dinner was just a simple phad thai (again) near my hotel.

It was still early, so I walked around Emporium and EmQuartier. Finally bought a mango smoothies.

I felt I was really tired on first day. But thanks God it was over.
