Kim Gary @Citysquare, JB
Yeah..finally I go JB with my husband!
We ate at Kim Gary. The price is the same but in different currency. In singapore $12 for one meal, then in JB it's only RM12. Quite a big difference.
After that , we continued to Secret Recipe. I ate the banana choco cake. Yummy. :P
On the way home, we bought this pie just next to old town coffee.

Yen's House Warming
Today was Yen's house warming. We bought oven toaster for her. I use the same type also. It's very useful.
Her house is well renovated. I like her brown wall with butterflies print.
Every thing she bought from IKEA. I also like the walking wardrobe. I wish I could do one at my own house.
Do you remember Heineken's advertisement? When the ladies came in to a room which is walking wardrobe. I like something like that. It's possible to do in Jakarta but not in Singapore. Unless my clothes are few thousand dollar each pieces then it's worth it to sacrifice one common room as my walking wardrobe.

Qonquering 2nd Museum : Peranakan Museum
We walked to this museum with umbrella. It was raining.
I found this one is interesting...may be because I am PERANAKAN.
You are PERANAKAN if you exchange tray before your wedding. There are 4 tray need to be exchanged. In Indonesia we call it : Sang jit.
From groom's family to bride's family :
1st tray : 1 set of jewelery and hong pao
2nd tray : pork leg
3rd tray : 1 pair of liquor, 1 pair of candles and few oranges
4rd tray : clothes for the brides
From bride's family to groom's family :
1st tray : not sure ...sorry
2nd tray : cut pork leg
3rd tray : 1 pair of syrup, give back lesser oranges, and give another type of fruits
4rd tray : clothes and slipper for groom
And I just realized that everything I have at my Jakarta's house from my grand parents are actually heritage of peranakan. Because almost everything in that museum are similar to ones I have at home.
My auntie gave me a box full of beads, very colorful. And the size is also different from now a day's beads. Older beads are smaller in size.
Seeing all the things there was really amazing.

Jtown @Orchard
My colleague recommended this place. She said the siomay was good.
Then I tried it just now with my husband. But we ordered bakmi with beef ball.
The noodle was too hard to chew. The beef ball was ok. Niko really likes martabak.
Then we gave it a try. He said the martabak, can not make it. It was too sweet until he could not taste anything. I think they don't use Wiseman Margarine. That's why it doesn't smell as nice as Jakarta one.

Seaweed Frech Fries @ Mc.D
I really hate Mc.D because it's the most junk food of all the junk food.
Niko had been nagging along the way because he was hungry. It was 10.15pm. He had eaten his cereal with milk and yogurt before we left home.
Then the M letter appeared after UOB building at Boat Quay. His savior.
He ordered 1 seaweed french fries and 1 box chicken wing (4 pieces) with a up-sized ice lemon tea (it tasted like water with a gallon of sugar).

X'mas Eve Dinner @ Home
I thought we would book a restaurant for this X'mas Eve dinner. But Niko had different plan since he had his own cast iron pan.
He bought a piece of strip-loin. I preferred to have grilled fish. I chose a big one.
The time, I was really expecting too much of his expertise.
I really forced my self to eat my fish. It was horribly salty. He had put too much salt on mine.
His meat was salty, but not as bad as mine, at least for beef you still can enjoy the beef taste.
The pasta was the other way of the fish. It had no taste. :D
After that, I could not enjoy my wine because my tongue was numb.
If you look at the picture I know it doesn't look as bad as what I've said. But trust me...I expected the same thing also until I tried, then I know it's not as good as the appearance.
In the middle of our dinner, his boss called. :( talked to him so long...
Then for the dessert we had Japanese cheese cake bought from Breadtalk $8.80
Initially I really wanted to but Log cake, seeing the price, it's above $30, so I decided to buy only cheese cake. T-T
Conclusion is this is the worst food that Niko has cooked. He used to be good.

Barbie Exhibition @ Raffless City
St.Bernadette Church @Zion Road
It's been a very long time since the latest time I came here.
They had renovated the church become very bright and fully air-con.
This church has take part in my relationship with my husband. This church is the church when I met him for the 2nd time. That day, I came to Tiongbahru to collect my notebook. So after that we went to this church together. :D
Boon Tong Kee Chicken Rice @River Valley Road
I remember that day my husband brought this home for me was not as good as today I ate there.
I think best it's to enjoy the food there.
We ordered chicken rice with $9 chicken. And spinach with 3 kind of eggs.
I didn't know that the peanut they served wasn't free. 1 plate of peanut $2.00 and additional for the tissues.
The spinach was great. They put century egg, salted egg and normal egg.
The rice it self was already tasty. They served it in pyramid shape (very little portion).

The Bodyguard and The Assassin Movie
I knew, the title of the movie I was going to watch, very last minute.
This movie is about protecting Mr.Sun (Shin Yat Sun). He will be coming to Hong Kong to discuss HK's political future.
Since few days before he come (beginning of the movie), it's already a lot of people being killed.
So the whole story is about killing people. The Cing dynasty is trying to kill the people who are protecting Mr.Sun. End up, it's only 2 person stay alive.
I don't like Donny Yen's character. He really like stupid person in this movie. I watched Ip Man few months back, he was respectable man.
Sherlock Holmes Movie
I just watched it at Illuma, Bugis.
It was not so good and I'm disappointed with this. I was thinking that the characters would be classic. Infact, the movie is too commercial. I also don't like Holmes' character in this movie.
Adler's character is not so alluring. In my opinion she supposed to be similar as James Bond's female enemy.
I may be misunderstand the character because I never read the book.

Studio Lunch from Ruth, Sarah, and Vince
We were treated by Ruth, Sarah, and Vince on Tuesday.
The food was great. Really nice.
They ordered the food from AMICI. They've done it very well. The x'mas deco was also there.
They said it was $25.00/ person for :
1. Salad
2. Mushroom Soup -- nicer than soup spoon I think, because it's not too creamy.
3. Spaghetti with mushroom oglio olio
4. Turkey breast
5. Sliced beef stroganoff
6. Oven Baked pacific dory with lemon butter --- BEST! BEST! BEST!
7. Calamari Rings with Tar tar sauce ---- HUGE! HUGE! HUGE! too bad it was already soggy.
8. Cut fruit (strawberry, papaya, and honey dew)
9. Log cake with rum ---- yummy! the rum was very strong!
They served it with environmental friendly plate, made from corn and yam. We made jokes while queuing that after finish eating, we also can eat the plate.
Thanks Ruth, Vince, and Sarah for the very nice lunch.

Chocolate Log Cake from LamiTAK
Cockroach @ Polar, Bugis Junction
I was thinking to buy some pieces of Polar swiss rolls at that day. It's not as usual. Some people queued to buy also.
When I was queuing I saw something small came out in between the swiss rolls. I was freezing quite few second and my eyeballs following the movement of that small thing.
I wanted to take picture, but it's too late. Small fellow went in to spongy cake.
Lucky I needed to queue. If not, I would have bought that rolls full of cockroach foot prints. Brrrrrrrrrrr....

Beef Noodle Stall @ Lavender Food Court
I always feel that beef noodle is really hard to find in Singapore. It's because some Buddhis can not eat beef.
Then we went to Lavender food court on Sunday lunch time. I ordered this beef noodle for $4.00 and the beef balls for $3.00
The beef balls were nice. They were not so hard like the one that my husband like.
Sure I'll come back another time. :D

Avatar Movie 2009
I think, this is the science fiction movie in the last 5 years. I really want to watch it again for the 2nd time. It'll be much more nicer if you watch this in 3D.
Even the story is the same style as Pocahontas or Dance with the wolves and so on...But the way they present it is so amazing and wonderful.
This kind of idea, the way they illustrate the animals and how the creatures interact one another, is really beyond your imagination.
This is A MUST WATCH MOVIE.
